Still having difficulty with the Normal. It’s a fine compromise between Glare and visibility.  Just brightened Normal up an infinetessimal amount just to improve that legibility whilst hopefully keeping the illusion of smoothness smooth. Sorry to keep changing things but it’s a trial an error process. I will get it right one day, if necessary I may have to re-write the custom function to handle the specific visibility issues of the Normal element.
